Hello LLAMA LOMS PELS members,
Our goal is to create an assessment repository that is easy-to-use for organizing and accessing library assessment examples, products and findings. We see the mission of the Library Assessment Repository as serving all types of libraries and librarians so they can easily locate assessment resources helpful to their work and enabling them to start new assessment projects. Since mid-April Martha Kyrillidou has been hard at work as our consultant on the Assessment Repository project, which is currently sponsored through the LLAMA innovation fund. She has spent a great deal of time reviewing details and talking to many individuals about the needs and options.
The attached document is the current draft of the concepts and specifications currently under consideration for building the Assessment Repository. In order to make this project successful and take into consideration the interests and needs of all potential users, we are holding an open discussion about the details at ALA in Orlando. Here are the details for that meeting:
Sunday, June 26 at 8:30 am – 10:00 am in the Rosen Centre, Room Salon 16. The description in the ALA program is “Assessment Repository Discussion (MAES)” but please help spread the word that this is an open meeting for anyone attending ALA, not just MAES members. Please consider reviewing the document and sharing your feedback and ideas and encourage others to do so also.
If you are not attending ALA or you cannot make it to this meeting time, we welcome your feedback via email. We appreciate any comments or thoughts you wish to provide. In addition we’d like to know how you might see yourself utilizing a repository like this in the future. Martha’s email is: email@example.com – and if you can, please try to provide us with your feedback by July 8. (If you need more time, just give us a heads up about when we can expect your feedback.)
The document is also in a Google Document linked here if you wish to see how feedback is incorporated in the month after ALA: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1CE6zeNnf_dpyFYlyY0dOldps3fzUdISAXNAKOeE86iM/edit
Thank you very much,
